About the event
We need your help. Many Oregonians are struggling to afford energy as rates continue to climb. Since 2021, PGE and Pacific Power have raised rates nearly 50%, and NW Natural has increased gas rates 40%, with more hikes expected this fall. In 2024 alone, for-profit utilities shut off power to nearly 70,000 households, including thousands of low-income families receiving aid.
Right now, lawmakers have a chance this year to act with a full package of energy affordability solutions, and they need to hear from you. Join us in a phonebank on Tuesday, June 17 from 5:30 – 6 p.m. urging legislators to support a strong climate justice budget.

Help us advocate for the Energy Affordability and Resilience Package, a set of bills that aim to lower utility costs, expand access to clean energy, and help communities prepare for wildfires and extreme weather. It supports Oregonians through keeping utility bills affordable, improving access to energy-efficient home upgrades, funding local resilience hubs, and more.
These key programs are at risk without renewed investment:
- Community Resilience Hubs: Provides another $10 million for Resilience Hubs and Networks. Resilience hubs could be lifesaving in the face of worsening ice storms, heat waves, wildfires, and wildfire smoke.
- Rental Heat Pump Program: An incentive program for landlords to upgrade to energy-efficient heat pumps. Tenants enjoy lower energy bills and more comfort.
- Community Heat Pump Deployment Program: An incentive program for low- & middle-income homeowners to upgrade to energy-efficient heat pumps, which provide affordable heat and cooling. This program needs reinvestment.
We need your voice to make sure these programs don’t run out of money. Call on legislators to pass the Energy Affordability and Resilience Package and invest in vital clean energy programs. Together, we can fight for real relief and energy justice for Oregon families.

Community Resilience Hubs and Building Resilience coalitions
