Resilience triptych featured at Smithsonian
Type: General
Solution Areas: Adaptation & Resilience Art & Storytelling
The Oregon Climate Action Hub has proudly featured Claire Sianna Seaman’s “Imagining Climate Resiliency in the Pacific Northwest” since 2023 (including on our front page); we are SO excited to see that the piece is now on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History as part of the Fifth National Climate Assessment’s (NCA5) Art x Climate Gallery.
This piece was a collaboration with the University of Washington Climate Impacts Group, who selected Claire from an open call for qualifications. She worked with the group’s scientists, asking what climate resiliency meant to them, to envision a just and sustainable future for all in the Pacific Northwest region.
The piece was also published in NCA5, from which 80 pieces were chosen from 700 submissions. Of those 80, 30 were chosen to be shown at the Smithsonian.
