Public Comment Period for Draft Oregon Energy Strategy Recommendations

Public Comment Period Open Aug. 14 through Sept. 22
SALEM – The Oregon Department of Energy will release draft policy recommendations for the Oregon Energy Strategy on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

The Oregon Energy Strategy:

• Identifies pathways to achieve the state’s energy objectives, including decarbonization goals, reliability, and affordability
• Evaluates benefits and challenges of different pathways, including how they may affect energy costs for households in Oregon, air quality and public health, and employment
• Presents policy recommendations
• Reflects input from Oregonians who informed the strategy

• Read the recommendations:
  • View the full draft recommendations report on the Oregon Energy Strategy website beginning Aug. 14.
  • ODOE also intends to post an executive summary of the draft recommendations in English, Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, and Chinese on the Oregon Energy Strategy website.
• Join the webinar: ODOE is hosting a webinar from 10 a.m. to noon the same day to walk through the draft recommendations as well as jobs modeling results. Information on how to join the webinar via Webex or phone is listed on the website.
• Submit comments: The public is invited to share feedback on the draft recommendations using the public comment portal Aug. 14 through Sept. 22, 2025.

Feedback on the draft recommendations will inform the final Oregon Energy Strategy, which will be submitted to Governor Kotek and the Oregon Legislature by November 1, 2025.
