About the event

At Future Climate Collective, we’re getting ready to launch Climathon 2026. It’s basically a high-energy innovation sprint for high schoolers, and it’s all about giving the next generation the tools to actually tackle Portland’s climate future.

🕵️ The Mystery Reveal

We’re keeping the specific “challenge” a secret for now, but on March 6, we’re dropping the mystery hurdle. It’s a real-world, systemic environmental issue facing Portland that needs a totally fresh set of eyes.

🏆 What’s on the line?

• Big Stakes: 8 student teams will pitch their ideas to city leaders and local experts.

• The Prize: We’ve got a $1,000 prize pot for the most scalable vision.

• The Goal: Real policy influence right here in our own backyard.

Whether you’re a professional, a student, or just someone who cares about PDX, there are a few ways to jump in:

• Students: If you know a high schooler who’s always asking “why don’t we just fix it this way?”, tell them to grab a team.
