About the event
The Oregon Clean Grid Collaborative (OCGC) invites you to register early for the 2026 OCGC Summit, taking place Monday May 18th, from 9:00am to 1:30pm at the Willamette Heritage Center in Salem.
Oregon is at a critical moment. Significant load growth is coming to the state at the same time we are transitioning to clean energy sources and relying on a transmission system – the poles and wires that move electricity from where it’s generated to where it is used – that is already at or nearing capacity. The need for additional clean energy generation and transmission is well documented in regional studies, utility plans, and state directives. While Oregon has made progress towards meeting its clean energy targets and preparing for future energy demand, much work remains.
Join Oregon’s energy leaders, policymakers, and industry experts for a day focused on Oregon’s electric grid, and the role the Legislature can play in ensuring the state is able to reliably, equitably, and affordably deliver clean energy to households and businesses.
Panel topics and breakout sessions will include:
- Transmission 101: What transmission is, why it’s the backbone of the grid, and the key barriers to building more of it
- Insights into the role transmission and grid infrastructure play in achieving clean energy mandates, delivering energy affordability and reliability, and supporting meaningful job creation
- Perspectives from leaders across sectors – business, utilities, consumer advocates, and state agencies – on Oregon’s grid challenges and opportunities
- Key reports, proposals, and emerging issues shaping Oregon’s grid
- Potential next steps for elected officials, particularly the legislature, to move Oregon forward
More about the Oregon Clean Grid Collaborative
Founded in 2023, OCGC brings together environmental justice, ratepayer, conservation, labor, and clean energy advocates from across Oregon who are committed to ensuring that Oregon transitions quickly, efficiently, and equitably to clean energy. Specifically, OCGC seeks to ensure that grid planning, governance, markets, and investments are aligned to maximize the power of the grid and prioritize reliability; accelerate grid decarbonization; equitably, affordably, and reliably deliver clean energy resources to end users; support meaningful economic development that prioritizes family-wage job creation in Oregon; and minimize impacts to environmental and cultural resources.
