About the event
Join Task Force Bayanihan Oregon and Kalikasan Solidarity Organization for a report-back from our first Relief & Rehabilitation Mission in 2026! The Bayanihan Disaster Response (BDR) campaign run by NAFCON (National Alliance for Filipino Concerns) asserts that while natural calamities may be inevitable, the scale of their destruction is not. The impact of natural disasters take on “un-natural” characteristics when coupled with government corruption, state-sanctioned murders of land defenders and organizers, and escalating imperialist plunder of ecological resources.
If you’d like to hear directly from people engaging in anti-imperialist climate response, we encourage you to join us for a report-back from our first BDR Relief & Rehabilitation Mission! Members of the Concerned Artists of the Philippines Portland (CAPP) will share experiences of community integration with peasant farmers in Cebu who are taking collective action to reclaim land and livelihood.
When: Saturday, May 9th from 4-7pm
Where: Lincoln Street United Methodist Church
