At AYA, we are proud to be on the forefront of solar technology. We are one of the few career technical schools in Coos County to offer a pre-apprenticeship program. Our program will put you ahead on your path to an apprenticeship program and your career.
Our technical school is structured to prepare our students to meet the demand of the rapidly growing need for skilled workers. Due to the focused areas of the program, those who successfully complete our pre-apprenticeship program will be uniquely positioned to stand out in a sea of candidates.

About the program
Introduction to solar electricity and residential construction
Kick start your career in the rapidly growing field of solar energy. There are several practical applications for solar electricity and career paths in the industry that we will explore during our time together.
150 + hours of hands on experience & practical education
As part of our 15+ hour curriculum, we will gain hands-on experience with residential construction, audio / visual production and even explore the world of electric bicycles.
Key topics to be addressed
Industry safety standards, basic principles of photovoltaics, general residential construction practices, communication practices necessary for success in gaining employment into the solar industry, career exploration in the audio visual production industry, and more.
