The Amtrak Cascades priority legislation ESHB1837 will have a hearing in the Senate Transportation Committee April 1st at 4:00pm. Could you sign in “PRO” ? You can sign in “PRO” up to 1hr prior to the meeting, 3:00pm April 1st, 2025.
At the sign in page select agenda item “ESHB 1837” then select “I would like my position noted for the legislative record” and follow instructions.
This legislation sets measurable metrics for improving Amtrak Cascades service. If we want to address climate change, congestion on the dangerous I-5 corridor and reduce pressure at our over capacity airports, we need a fast, frequent and reliable intercity passenger rail service. Success with Amtrak Cascades will also help build momentum for additional rail programs.
