The Environmental Coordinator supports TriMet’s agency-wide Environmental Services program by performing project-level work to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations. This includes regulations governing stormwater, wastewater, chemical management, hazardous and industrial waste, aboveground and underground storage tanks, spill response, air emissions, environmental cleanup, and contaminated media management.

Type of Position: Grade 12, Exempt, Non-Union, Full-Time.

Salary Range: $70,311.00 – $105,465.00

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental management, engineering, geology or chemistry is required.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with and applying environmental regulations in an industrial setting are required.
  • The following licenses/certificates are required within thirty (30) days of hire:
  • -HAZWOPER Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120)
  • -Hazardous Materials Transportation Certificate (USDOT 49 CFR 672)
  • Possession of current/valid Class “C” license issued by Oregon or Washington; ability to pass a driving record check meeting TriMet driving record standards.
  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.*
  • The amount of credit a candidate receives for prior years of experience is based on the relevancy of that experience to the required or preferred prerequisites of the job description. Experience is prorated based on hours worked. LRHR assigns and validates the “credited experience”.
