Laurelhurst Park pond with trees reflecting in the water
Join us at Laurelhurst Park in the afternoon to kick off Earth Day!

11:00 am – Arrive on bike!

Join PBOT for the Earth Day Community Bike Ride from Colonel Summers Park to Laurelhurst Park. Ride the Neighborhood Greenways, Portland’s quiet, slow streets that are prioritized for walking, biking, and rolling. More information at the Portland Bureau of Transportation.

Noon  – Let the Celebration Begin

Enjoy free food provided by Milk Crate Kitchen and music by DJ Pyum. Participate in a free seed exchange to find something new to grow. Explore local resources from the City and community, such as leave as no trace, recycling, and green roofs. Meet the Mayor’s unconfirmed appointments to the Sustainability and Climate Commission. And more!

1:30 pm – Earth Day Remarks from City Leaders

Hear from Mayor Keith Wilson, Councilor Steve Novick, and Chief Sustainability Officer Vivian Satterfield about how the city and community can come together as one to deepen our commitment to protect the planet and its people.

2:00 pm – Family Fun with Nikki Brown Clown & Tree Walk with Urban Forestry!

Enjoy laughter and joy with Earth Day-themed entertainment from Nikki the Brown Clown. Perfect for little ones and families!

Go on a tree walk with Urban Forestry through Laurelhurst Park. Although books and online resources are useful tools for identifying trees, the best and most memorable way to learn about trees is by seeing them up close and in person. A tree walk lets you not only see trees but also learn about them through touch and smell.
