About the event

Two years in the making with volunteers at Steele Magnolia and more solidarity with the landlord of the house in Lents Neighborhood to build a third space about scaling up urban farming & resources for the movement! We’ve held workshops here & to educate neighbors about germinating seeds while in a large green house built w/ ‘upcycled materials’ and used bike inner tubes to hold structure & more natural construction, had some fun times during October parties while educating community how to Jar Apples which were harvested at Steele Magnolia, Rainbow Ranch and Going Home. Even an office & media space. And now a SE Urban Farm Info-Shop & Volunteer Hub! We encourage new & even committed volunteers to attend a ‘Volunteer Orientation’. These are different volunteer orientations than ones before because of our new SE info/volunteer hub on SE 92nd/Steele St in Lents Neighborhood! This SE Urban Farm Info-Shop & Volunteer in Lents is a casual co-work space w/ a plant nursery space, canning station, media/office space, a ‘do-it-yourself’ (aka DIY) community pantry w/ a check out station & an online resource process, starter-kits for mini greenhouses, a community-infoshop, and even a large garden plot at Lents Community Garden while connected to more houses & an urban farm movement about changing the food system for another world to be possible! We will eventually support a MESH Network w/ DSA Resiliency Working Group at our Info/Volunteer Hub to directly support Co-op projects while even connecting volunteers to projects during our Friday 1pm-630pm program, via radio! Potentials!
