About the event
The Intergenerational Community Climate Workshop is a 4 session series — a collaboration between Frank Granshaw with PSU’s Senior Adult Learning Center, the PSU Student Sustainability Center, and Seniors for Generational Equity. It’s a pilot that organizers are hoping will evolve into an ongoing event, so it’s limited to 30 people. The aim is assembling a generationally diverse group of participants.
The Workshop is a four-part seminar series focusing on basic climate science, impacts, policy, and solutions. The first two sessions will involve exploring on-line tools (e.g. interactive atlases, data viewers, climate models, and infographics) to help participants understand the science and use these tools to do their own climate research. The last two sessions involve exploring options for addressing the climate crisis locally, nationally, and internationally.
- What participants will get out of this experience:
- Experience using some key online tools to better understand the science and do their own research.
- Finding out more about the range of options available for acting on climate issues and discerning where one fits in these options.
- A chance to have cross-generational conversations about climate issues and explore how to take action intergenerationally.
