About the event

Join us Tuesday Feb. 10th to talk to our legislators in constituent teams led by experienced MCATs Focus bills

  • Balcony Solar: Small, simple, plug-in solar installations to reduce residential & small business electricity bills.
  • Distributed Power Plant (DPP) Program: Requires electrical utilities to develop programs to allow small source generation and storage.
  • Get the Data for a Better Road User Charge (RUC): Requires ODOT to report the total biennial cost of maintenance of the state’s road system, and report total mileage driven.
  • Upgrade As You Save: Fund energy efficiency and electrification without burden to the State or ratepayers.
  • Energy, Resilience & Infrastructure Fund: Create an Oregon entity for small loans for electrification and infrastructure.

  • 9:00 Huddle with teams — meeting prep
  • 9:30  Walk & Talk: Head to Capitol while practicing talking points
  • 10:00-12:30 Scheduled legislative meetings and office drop-ins
  • 12:30 Regroup for lunch
  • 1:00 Scheduled legislative meetings and office drop-ins
  • Whenever finished, return to drop off notes and unused materials
  • 2:00-5:00  Head home

MCAT (Mobilizing Climate Action Together) is a community of experienced volunteers, sponsored by OLCV, who help steward significant greenhouse gas reduction policy into law in Oregon.

MCAT participates with the broad and inclusive climate and equity coalitions in Oregon and partners with OCN and others on coordinated action, particularly in regard to state legislation and policy.  MCAT also actively organizes to elect and support legislators who will work for strong climate legislation.
