About the event
Extinction Rebellion Portland (XRpdx) has been exploring how a well-being economy is vital to a more rapid transition away from the material and fossil fuel extraction, production and consumption that is destroying our planet as well as a path forward towards more equitable and thriving communities. We believe that even the most sustainable green technology will not be enough – we need to reduce the demand for and acceptance of the most damaging forms of production and consumption as well as the most damaging forms of economic control by corporations and the ultra wealthy and work towards a different kind of economy.
As part of that exploration, we are sponsoring the film Outgrow the System at 7pm on November 15th at thet Moriarty Auditorium on the PCC Cascade campus (705 N Killingsworth). We plan to ask attendees for a $5-10 donation (no one turned away of course) to help cover a small donation for the film company and the minimal cost that PCC will charge us.
