About the event
The Tualatin Riverkeepers (TRK) Volunteer Restoration Crew Leader Program is designed to train people to organize and lead groups of volunteers in habitat restoration projects around the Tualatin River Watershed. This program will help you gain experience in habitat restoration best practices, local ecology, and volunteer coordination. TRK Restoration Crew Leaders will lead groups of community volunteers in projects such as invasive weed removal, native planting, and trail maintenance at parks, natural areas and outdoor community spaces. Crew Leaders can support TRK sponsored events, set up their own events in current TRK restoration sites, or identify new project sites within their own community.
After an initial online training, an in-person event training, and shadowing with TRK staff during at least one community volunteer event, you will have all the tools you need to organize and lead groups of volunteers in projects that care for the land! As a TRK Restoration Crew Leader, you will increase capacity for habitat restoration in the Tualatin River Watershed, and play an important part in sustaining the health of community accessible natural areas.
