Sun Day PDX

About the event

Together with hundreds of partners and working groups across the country, the Sun Day PDX Rally will celebrate solar and wind power, and demand the U.S. accelerate its transition to clean energy. We’ll show our decision makers and thought leaders of all kinds – federal and local elected officials, civic and business leaders, labor unions – that Americans want affordable, reliable, clean energy and the good jobs and stable economy it will create. We are the majority and we want a prosperous, healthy future for ourselves and our families.

Experience the Waterfront transformed into a celebration of clean energy, with powerful speakers, a parade, a celebration of music and art, and a chance to learn more about how everyone can contribute to the Sun Power Revolution.

We’re building a diverse community (all ages and backgrounds) to rally support and push for meaningful policy change.

Sun Day in Portland – the line-up:

• Well known speakers and leaders from Oregon Community Solar and Climate Justice
• Parade across bridges, led by the Extinction Rebellion firetruck
• Back at the Waterfront, wander under the trees to learn about solar power and electric vehicles
• Join the Sun Ball for music, dancing and celebration
• Learn easy ways to you can take action and voice your support for clean energy

Who’s behind Sun Day?

Sun Day is the brainchild of Bill McKibben, author and activist. Third Act is a national founding partner; Third Act Oregon – PDX is creating Sun Day PDX in collaboration with Extinction Rebellion, Making Earth Cool, and 350PDX.
