About the event

This workshop explores the connection between food waste and climate change through hands-on learning, expert demonstrations, and collaborative discussion. Teachers will gain classroom-ready lessons and strategies for engaging students in food waste reduction, while school operations staff will learn about sustainable food system practices, funding opportunities, and waste reduction initiatives. The workshop will conclude with planning time for school teams to develop actionable strategies for reducing food waste in their school communities. Hosted by ONREP, Metro, Oregon Climate Education Hub, Clackamas County and Springwater Environmental Sciences School.
