The Florence Climate Emergency Campaign has long been active in Florence, Oregon holding weekly Friday climate strikes over the past 7 years. During this time, Mike and Pat Allen gathered 2,733 signatures from locals and worldwide visitors alike. Over 40 people filled the chamber at the Florence City council meeting on August 17th where the Allens presented the petition and requested a Florence-based climate action plan. The good news is people showed up for climate!
