Emergency Management and Community Resilience Program, Portland State University: The graduate certificate in Emergency Management and Community Resilience is designed to equip leaders to build more resilient communities and systems while serving the world in this critical time of need. The Emergency Management and Community Resilience curriculum incorporates a multitude of fields, ranging from anthropology to urban planning to communication. The program’s transdisciplinary nature pushes our students to examine issues from multiple perspectives and equips them with the skills and the knowledge to create a more resilient, just future. With a focus on critical assessment, we strive to identify equitable pathways for informed resilience work. Placing a premium on community engagement, sustainability, inclusion and equity, and applied learning, this is a program built to address the needs of all people.
Oregon State University’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences offers 13 undergraduate and graduate programs, each of which addresses climate change in its own area. The oceanographic and atmospheric programs are unique to the state of Oregon. Additionally, Oregon State University is home to the PRISM Climate Group. This research group gathers and analyzes a range of information in search of climate patterns.
University of Washington’s College of the Environment offers more than 20 relevant undergraduate and graduate degree programs; the study of climate change is interspersed throughout each . Students have access to resources such as the Climate Impacts Group; the Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center; the Cooperative Institute for Climate, Ocean and Ecosystem Studies; and the Program on Climate Change.
Climate Justice and Resilience Leadership Certificate Program, Humboldt State University: The Climate Justice & Resilience Leadership Certificate program provides a holistic perspective of the effects of, and those affected by, climate change. In it, you will hone socio-political, economic, aesthetic, decolonial, anti-racist, and psychological analyses to develop climate solutions in community. The program is geared toward students who want to demonstrate climate justice acumen in any sector or career path.

University of California, San Diego (UCSD) hosts Scripps Institution of Oceanography, which offers a variety of degree programs and manages a number of research centers, including the Center for Climate Change Impacts and Adaption; Scripps Polar Center; Center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation; and Center For Western Weather and Water Extremes.
California Institute of Technology (Caltech) is home to the Climate Dynamics Group. This collaborative group focuses on atmospheric dynamics on Earth as well as on other planets.
Arizona State University (ASU) is home to the Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation (GIOSI) and the College of Global Futures, which consists of:

- The School of Complex Adaptive Systems
Climate solutions at Michigan State University: All MSU colleges conduct climate research, and the university has over 500 faculty working on climate solutions.
The Yale School of the Environment offers graduate level study with both professional and research-oriented tracks. Part of the School of the Environment is the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, which uses a variety of social and entertainment media to educate and influence general attitudes and behaviors towards climate change and provides resources for leaders in the field to communicate more effectively with the public.
The Harvard University Center for the Environment (HUCE) helps bring together students, professors, and researchers from these various disciplines.
